As indispensable equipment in patch clamp biological experiments, multi-channel perfusion system makes the perfusion process intelligent with the cooperation of control program. And the experimenters liberated from the repeated work could concentrate on observing and recording the experimental phenomena much more, which improved the efficiency and precision of the experiments. However, the perfusion system motivated by the gravity met the problems of slow response and long pipeline. Therefore, a new kind of perfusion system was proposed and designed in this thesis, which could solve the problems referred to.In this thesis, design of the new perfusion system based on peristaltic pump was discussed in three sections: the pressure-control part, the USB communication with the PC applications and the hydrodynamics analysis of the system.1) As the main control component of the pressure-control part, the new type MCU C8051F340 produced peristaltic pump control signal, collected the pressure signal and accomplished the digital PID algorithm. The drive and control of the peristaltic pump were implemented by the PWM signal and the driver chip LMD18200.2) The USB communication between C8051F340 and the PC applications, the read/write operation of internal FLASH memory were introduced.3) The interrelated hydrodynamics theories of pipe flow, the causation and computing method of the pressure loss were discussed. By simulating the system with the liquid software FLUENT, comparative analysis was made between the simulated results and the measured results.The pressure control and USB communication with the PC applications were realized in this system. And the FLUENT simulation could also be a good reference for the future design.
