White LED as the most promising Light Source has many advantages, such as high luminous efficiency, high luminous intensity, long life period etc. It is widely used in mobile phone, digital cameral, MP3 and other portable applications.Many famous IC design companies product various White LED for more profits, so there is more and more competition in this market. With the rise of programmable power management, we can design a chip embedded EEPROM to meet more market demands. With the embedded EEPROM we can design many different DC-DC boost converters in one chip. And we also use EEPROM to trimming a good performance on some important module in the chip.Based on the in-deep study of the interrelated technique of the DC-DC boost converters, a design scheme of the switching regulator of step-up DC-DC White LED Driver Chip Embedded EEPROM converters operating at a fixed frequency of fixed is presented.In the main part of this paper, the whole chip block diagram and the typical application information are firstly given. And then, the sub-block circuits such as EEPROM, over voltage protection (OVP) circuit and Bandgap circuit, etc. are introduced in detail, in which the EEPROM and OVP circuit are critical technologies.This chip is designed on the basis of 0.6μm BiCMOS process, and its performance has been verified by HSPICE simulation. The whole chip simulation results are given, which prove the design successful.
