In recent years, with the developing of technology as well as increasing of requirement to switching power supply for computer communication and automobile industry, the research and development of power electronic technology ASIC are becoming a hotspot in the field of power electronics. Therefore, the choice to use the controller IC of the switching power supply as a topic not only has theories meaning, but also have in the meantime very big of economy performance and society performance.This paper research the design to current mode PWM controller IC, it is achieved by bipolar process. In his paper current mode PWM control IC of operation principium and circuit composition was analyzed firstly, then each functional blocks was designed, which included error amplifier, a precision reference, oscillator ,PWM comparator, a high-current totem-pole output and under-voltage lockout etc, and all of circuits in transistor level for functional blocks are given. The simulation of each functional block has been done by PSpice, and the results are consistent with design goals. Finally, the process flow, layout levels are introduced in detail and the whole layout has been accomplished according to the design rule.
