With the rapid development of Internet services, it is growing demands of network bandwidth. As the backbone network has sufficient capacity to support broadband services, access network bandwidth bottlenecks in the entire transmission network. EPON with a high bandwidth, low cost, easy to use easy and upgrading of the fine characteristics is the best choice. At the same time for EPON optical access network equipment and network management of a new topic is growing. EPON suitable for the development of a network management system to improve the bearing capacity of the business in EPON network and improve the operational capacity of equipment is necessary.The need to manage a variety of EPON equipment, EPON Network Element Management System is designed to be interchangeable in order to adapt to the changing needs and reduce development costs; This paper discusses the EPON Network Element Management System Communication Interface Design and Implementation.This paper analyzes the Java RMI principle and the advantages and limitations of RMI. Java RMI-based Distributed System Development flaws,Java RMI is re-packaged by JAVA Dynamic Proxy , so communication interface flexibility is enhanced. Taking into account alert, performance data transmission and the multi-client data synchronization in EPON Network, In EPON Element Management System, the callback function of RMI Communication Interface is provided so that the server could visit the clients; Communication Interface for power management, log management supports AOP functions and gives strong support to the business logic module. We illustrate how to use EPON Network Element Management System Communication Interface to call for business and how to use the callback function to transmit alarm data. According to the Communication Interface application, summed up communication interface strengths and improvement of the future direction.
