The Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) is a result of continuous work to define an industry wide specification for developing applications that operate over wireless communication networks. The target of this project is to implement the application of WAP on the TI mobile terminal platform, and settle the difficulty that WAP network function can not be simulated in PC simulator development environment.Firstly, WAP protocol, the hardware & software architecture of TI platform are introduced in detail. Then the implementation method of WAP protocol is analyzed, which is based on TI platform. Upon them, the thesis put emphasis on describing the design method of"interlayer module", which is the key part of WAP application frame."Interlayer"abstracts the characteristic of platform, separates the direct communion between MMI layer and lower layer system, to make the WAP MMI's development easier, and enable the interaction between PC and target machine by providing remote function call service.On the next step, this thesis describes the particular interlayer implementation for WAP module in detail. At last, through the experiments in both target machine and PC simulator environment, the feasibility of the WAP application frame is proved, which can implement the WAP browser application and settle the difficulty of WAP network function simulating in PC simulator platform.Moreover, the"interlayer"which is brought out in this thesis gives facilities for the MMI transfer work. It also offers a good thinking for the software frame design based on the other application platform.
