UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply) which is also called the uninterruptible power supply system, is a power protection system in front of the load and in back of the utility. The backup UPS, which has been widely used in computers, communications, banking, securities, telecommunications, medical, industrial control and other industries, has small size, high efficiency and low cost advantages.UPS response to the traditional control strategy is mainly based on the expert system rules extraction method, the experience of aid designers to artificially defined rules and parameters. However, due to various different designer's understanding and awareness of the differences found by the same feedback types of load. The corresponding action rules may be different, even contradictory, which seriously affecting the effectiveness of the response control. Therefore, looking for the efficient pursuit of intelligent control systems, has become the major issues which many companies focused on.As an emerging tool deal with the uncertainty, incomplete, inaccurate data, Rough Set (RS) allows a certain object is not accurate and uncertain, and other soft calculation can be integrated better, which is the new direction of the Research on the intelligent control field. This paper raises a UPS control method using rough set theory which has a advantages of dealing with the uncertainty, incomplete, inaccurate data. We build a control model of backup UPS, designed and implemented a breadboard which is used to simulate the actual UPS products. We use the actual data from the real product as the samples for the training and rules extraction, verified by the actual product data. The result proved the feasibility and effectiveness of the control program.
