Bus priority is an important component of the APTS (Advanced Public Transportation System) in the intelligent transportation system; it is one of the effective ways of alleviating the city traffic problem. In this dissertation proposes a bus priority control algorithm based on rough set theory, as the research object of the actual intersection of DaXue Road and MingXiu Road in NanNing. It is supposed that the intersection sets up traffic detectors, which can detect information of buses and other traffics, at the same time these detectors transmit the information to the control algorithm. At the first, the algorithm pre-treats this information of buses and other traffics, calculates the block parameter of green phase and the crowd parameter of red phase separately, and then process discreteness. Then establish the decision table by the actual command experience of policemen command the communication regard the block parameter and the crowd parameter as the condition attribute, as well as regard the prolong of green light's time as the decision attribute, then reduct this decision table by rough set theory to acquire the decision regulations as the control tactics. At last, control the intersection by these control tactics, and then apply the classical F-B delay and traffic capacity as the estimation function, adopt the timing control mode and the bus priority control algorithm based on rough set theory to calculate separately. The result of calculate indicates that this algorithm could decrease the average waiting time of bus' passengers about 6.67% at the intersection; achieve the timing priority of buses at the intersection, at the same time, it also reduce other cars average waiting time about 6.62%, so it enhances the traffic capacity of the intersection about 1.56%.
