The integration of information economy and the quick development of information technology, which is represented by computer, are two remarkable features in this era. The modern shipbuilding industry also marches into the highly developed information era. To meet the challenge and opportunity from the expeditiously growing global shipbuilding industry, consider the information developing level of domestic shipbuilding corporation, China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation has made its own guiding ideology for "11th Five-Year Plan" IT planning: following the guild line of information bringing out industrialization, promoting the digitalization of the product exploitation, designation, production and management, realizing the aim of producing watercrafts digitally, improve the efficiency, reducing the cost, and enhancing the competitive advantages.The ships'capacity forecasting system is a sub-system of the large-scale digitized demonstration project, as well as the prophase of shipping designation of the network service system. The ships'capacity forecasting system is an important link in the information construction of China Ship Scientific Research Center, which will increase enterprise's competition greatly, reduce research cost, shorten design periods, and speed up the renewal of watercrafts.By reviewing the informatization history of shipbuilding capacity design, this dissertation has particularly research and analyze its history, present and future, and furthermore, provides reference for the information construction of the shipbuilding capacity design on the basis of development concern.With the analysis and summary of the current situation of the system, combining the actual business developing requirements in the China Ship Scientific Research Center , the dissertation expounds the whole design and realistic idea for the future new generation of the system. The new generation will design by adopting distributed system design and service-oriented architecture, and using the mature J2EE enterprise application integration model and the current popular Ajax technology, data analysis, technology achievements, work flow and database etc. in this way, the system may better serve the new-era shipbuilding industry information system.This dissertation has considered the current situation and future trends when providing its design solution, on the basis of business needs, managing demand, interactive needs, technology and security needs and development needs. The main opinion is to establish a network shipbuilding capacity computation integrative system, give attention to sea keeping, maneuverability, optimize body form parameter, provide the practical software for the ships design, simultaneously offer the information searches, the import and export of data, the result analysis as well as the related auxiliary management function etc. These functions'realization also assists the system changing from subordination for the shipbuilding design process into the most essential and determinative part.
