With the development of streaming media technology and embedded technology, manufacturers pay more and more attention to embedded video surveillance system.Based on the analysis of the development of the video surveillance system and the features of streaming media,and with the emphasis on the existing problems of the storage system belonging to the surveillance system and needs of the project,this dissertation is designed and successful in making a streaming media storage system with easy expansion,convenient transplantation and advantageous management.The architecture and the modules of the streaming media storage system are explained in this dissertation.This dissertation first analyzes the requirements of the streaming media storage system and the status of embedded storage system,and expounds the relationship between the designing and the monitoring systems.After researching and comparing multi-storage media with the embedded operating system,the dissertation designes the overall designing solution of the system and system framework,with a proposed adoption of IDE hard drive and embedded Linux to be the the storage medium of storage systems and operating systems.Second,this dissertation focuses on theories of IDE hard drive interface and the related technologies of the streaming media file system.Then fathoms out the specific methods to make those modules to come true,and designs the hard drive bottom function with the process of streaming media storage system.The specific codes and examples are given.In addition,the system also designs the strategy of streaming media file storage,including the records of streaming media,file size,monitoring sites,set-up time,and other relevant information.With the implementation of storage strategy,business development in storage systems can achieve other value-added services,such as playback,query.Finally,by testing the Linux operating system,Toshiba's IDE hard drive and serial debugging software,we put the storage system to the entire video surveillance system for a whole test.The results show that the storage system can achieve the desired effects of the functions to meet the basic needs of the monitoring system.This dissertation presents a system with a highly expansibility,flexibility and reusability, which is suitable for embedded Linux environment,as well as the certain application value,and could meet the need of the practical streaming media file storage.
