Web service provides a new application for Internet, but the functions which are implemented by a single web service cannot satisfy the requirement of service requester. So there is a new web service established by web service composition in order to fulfill a complex function. Web service composition is beneficial to the information sharing and the application coordinating, but there is the problem of service compatibility to be solved. Semantic web service is an extension of web services to be applied with the semantic web technology, improves the capability of interaction of web services, enhances the information sharing function and enables automated discovery, automated composition and automated execution of web services.So far there have been the several modeling frameworks proposed for semantic web service in the academic circle and WSMO is one of the most effective modeling frameworks. Choreography is the essential part of WSMO and describes the behaviour of the service from the client's point of view. The conceptual model of WSMO-choreography is able to provide the formal semantics for the interaction between service requester and service provider. Thereby it can improve the capability of interoperation of the semantic web service.The conceptual model of WSMO-choreography consists of four elements which are state signature, state, transition rule and non-functional property. ASM composed by vocabulary, state and transition rule which are corresponding to the three elements (state signature, state and transition rule) of the conceptual model of WSMO-choreography. Therefore ASM is used to describe the WSMO-choreography.In WSMO, the service compatibility means that it holds for the choreography interface. The service compatibility embodies the data compatibility, the information compatibility and the communication compatibility. Choreography under the Web Service top element could meet the requirement of the information compatibility, and the Mediator top element could satisfy the requirements of the data compatibility and the communication compatibility. In the execution process of web services, to apply the WSMO-choreography engine and the mediator is a practical way to resolve the problem of service compatibility.The instance of a digital product online shopping system proves that WSMO-choreography resolves the problems of unduly centralized control, poor openability and non-compatibility among different systems in B2C E-commerce system.
