Swarm intelligence is a emerge intelligence stems from nature swarm ecosystems.Swarm intelligence is a quality that many simple individuals can perform complex intelligent behaviors through interaction. There exist a great many swarm ecosystems in nature, performing highly swarm behavior. Swarm intelligence highlights the simplicity of individuals, emergent property of the colony and bottom-up research strategies.In ecosystem, individual animals behave rather simply, while the colony, once they form, could show a series of complicated behavior. At present, the research on swarm intelligence is still in the primary stage, therefore, it is important to study and master the property and rules of swarm intelligence system in terms of theory and application.The dissertation chooses the natural fish as the objective of research, and analyzes the behavior and characteristic of fish school, and aims to establish a simple artificial fish system through computer simulation technology, and shows how fish colony swim, prey on and breed by the graphical way. Through the run of system, the process of fish colony's producing complex behavior is demonstrated. Firstly, a vector-based data model is constructed to describe the behavioral rules of fish school. The model consists of environment, agents and the behavioral rules. Environment stands for ocean. The agents include two kinds of fish agents,food agent and hook agent. The behavior rules include swimming rules, feeding rules, reproduction rules and death rules.Based on these behavior rules,the model can reflect the common behavior properties of fish school.Secondly,the artificial fish system is completed through Java technology. Each fish obeys the same behavior rules to interact and swim, which lead to complex swarm behavior.Artificial fish can be a good simulation of a intelligent behavior characteristics of fish in nature.Finally,based on the artificial fish system, the complicated behavior of fish school and its reason is studied. The result shows that the presence of swarm intelligence is determined by the interaction of individual and environment and the interaction of individuals.
