As there is a lot of strongpoints for high-power plane-array laser(HLDA), like small volume, light weight, long life-span, high efficiency ,etc, it is extensively used in many areas. But as for HLDA's own structure, its intensity distribution is not symmetrical,thus makes beam collimating system indispensable. It is a significance to study HLDA's far-field intensity distribution characteristics, which is a premise for beam collimating system.The planar non-coherent HLDA is used as the main research, which is composed of several one dimension linear arrays(bar) and each array has several light cells, and every cell is a SLD.At present, many academician both at home and abroad have studied the intensity distribution module of SLD.but until now ,there has been no particular counting model of intensity distribution characteristics for HLDA.Pratical testing instruments in exsistence including CCD camera, outline curve scanning instrument and so on ,is out of place for HLDA because they are fit with low power LD. Based on that ,we develop a new method to test HLDA's intensity distribution characteristics.The whole testing system includes: impulse driving power , cooling system for HLDA, optical receiving and detecting equipment,data collection module,as well as computer software for data disposition and display.The driving power provides current to drive HLDA; cooling system is made to cool HLDA,in order not to shatter or burn HLDA; Taking optical receiving and detecting equipment, the three dimention displacement platform scans the whole HLDA at the command of the controller; data collection module collects the testing HLDA's intensity value,and later transfers the data though USB interface to PC to deal with or display the data.On the basis of accomplishing system design and function debug, we test far-field intensity distribution characteristics of simplified HLDA and practical HLDA.Also by testing intensity distribution characteristics of HLDA at the direction perpendicular to PN and parallel to PN ,we validate the intensity distribution model which is put forward by the prophase copartner. Finally,we analyze the system stability,which indicates that the system we desigh has good testing stability.
