Design, development and commissioning of modern systems have traditionally been expensive and time consuming tasks, so simulation comes. Radar system simulation technology is used widely to shorten the period of development and delivered significant saving in the research, development and verification of radar systems; we can make some different designs, and with which we take experiments, analyze their characteristics, adjust their parameters, and in turns use all these to direct the production. So it is quick, convenient and flexible. Take a wide view of the long enduring development history and the infinitely tendency of Mimi-wave radar system, which one becomes the background of this subject.Firstly, compared with several kinds of high resolution radar signals, then lead in the stepped-frequency signal which is to be researched. Through the introduction of the basic consists of the mono-pulse receiver, we give out nine fundamental mono-pulse radar systems, from which we choose the phase-sum & difference one. Then we design the framework of stepped-frequency mono-pulse radar system on the whole. Additionally, we introduce ADS & MATLAB software, and list the step of simulation in brief.Secondly, we define the waveform of stepped-frequency signal in brief, and put emphasis on analyzing the parameters of function & the standards of construction. What's more, we determinate the parameters of waveform under the standards'guidance. Next we derive the principle of high range resolution profile in view of IFFT in detail, which is simulated by ADS & MATLAB. In the target model, we draw into the radar function & RCS such a key parameter.Finally, put emphasis on introduction of the principle of angle measurement in phase-sum & difference method, and analyses withdraw of angle error signal, while bring up the schematic of phase-sum & difference mono-pulse radar in single plane. Then after compared three project of receiver, we select the wideband IF digital project. In addition, we analyses the principle and realization of the orthotropic demodulation in dual aisle & the sampling theorem, and conduct the simulation.
