Design And Implementation Of Wireless Multi-service Access Gateway

With the development of society and economy, the increasing demands in commu-nication services have stimulated the development of communication network technol-ogy. The demand of the simplex service network and the overlaying service networkcan not satisfy the consumer any more. Meanwhile, the use of mobile data terminalsis more and more popular, however, the portability and expedience of mobile terminalrequire wireless access manner. At present, VoIP gateway can not meet the consumer'sneeds very well, so it is significant to develop a wireless multiple access gateway.This thesis developed a wireless multiple service access gateway base on MIPS plat-form. At first, the design scheme of embedded VoIP gateway is introduced by analyzingthe functionality requirements and related technology. Then the design and implementof the system are discussed in detail, both from hardware platform and top-layer appli-cation software perspective.The system hardware platform take ADM5120 as its corehardware platform, and consist Voice processing unit, Ethernet data exchange moduleand wireless data transceiver module. During the exploitation of application software,self-adaptive control algorithm based on Packet loss rate of RTP is implemented forthe purpose of enhancing performance of QoS in the VoIP, other applications as VoiceAcquisition, mute detection, real-time voice transmission media modules, wireless datatransceiver card, access control relay are also involved. At last, the thesis initials atest and simulation on system software and hardware. The experiment showed thatthe design of access gateway system can work well, and the voice quality meets therequirements.The innovation of the system researched in the thesis is that the wireless accessgateway has provided a new pattern for mobile portable application of IP telephone. Itcan not only be used as a wireless access hub in SOHO environment to supply demandof di?erent access manner in family or o?ce data terminal and telephone terminal, butalso used as broadband access equipment for enterprises or telecom operators to meetthe needs of broadband access for residential subscribers. This product is particularlyuseful for family, o?ce, enterprise, campus, also especially for new telecom operatorsto build synthesis communication network.
