Educational Mobile Robot is a kind of intelligent robot, which specially is used in educational field. In undergraduate education, it can be used in classroom teaching, as onekind of platform, it also can be applied in various practice teaching. With the development of electronic technologies and the wider application of the robot, the control system need better performance: high speed, real-time, extensible and transplantable.Therefore, according to the requires of robot, I choose the ARM7 microprocessor—LPC2131 to design the control system for its low power dissipation, high powered, plentiful I/O interface etc. The design predigests the electro-circuit making use of the characteristic of LPC2131, such as the Pulse Width Modulaor (PWM). The corresponding software design has also been introduced in this paper. It includes the knowledges of the real-time operation system (RTOS)μC/OS-II and the means to transplant it into the LPC2131.The software has good extension and transplantable. The control system of the mobile robot relates to electronics, control technologies, single-chip, so the design can combine all of the knowledge to open out the experiment and design another conrtol system on the hardware.The research content of this paper list as following:1. This paper presented the mechanical modules, expounded the design approach of control electro-circuit, achieved the design and the debugging of the electro-circuit which drives the motor, choosed the sensor system by the demand of the mobile robot, and append the output electro-circuit which can be used to debug the system. The design fulfilled this job: the choices of the chip, the PCB document, jointing and testing etc.2. The transplant method of real-time operation system is introduced. The software of the control system is designed by structural means, prone to open out another algorithm. In addition, the system is a platform to learn to design the software of the control system, such as the control of the system, interrupt, the software design on RTOS. In the paper, the research meets the requirement of control system of the educational wheeled mobile robot for searching the track, following up the moving object, evading the roadblock.
