Navigation is an indispensability part in modern lives. It plays an important role in national economy and modern science technology. Navigation is a highly comprehensive technology. It determined by measuring the movement and the current carrier and the position of navigation parameters to guide movement along established routes carrier accurate and safe navigation. The Tactical air navigation (TACAN)system is designed for ship-based, mobile station and the development of military tactical air navigation system. It can be used for military aircraft and the airport in the short-range navigation.In this paper, the work is mainly on hwoto use the TMS320VC5416 to design and complete a TACAN simulated signal sources. We first introduced the TACAN signals in the basic form and the ranging and location of the basic tenets from ground to sky. Second, we described the formation of the baseline signal pulse of TACAN group in the role of system. Third , we introduced the design principles of the hardware and software of system. The hardware designing is at the core DSP and CPLD. The host PC controled the peripheral devices to produce the signal TACAN through the serial port. System software was make up of PC software and on-chip DSP software . PC software was sent an order to DSP and receive the same order returning from the DSP to determine whether the order was complete and correct . The DSP on-chip software mainly control the devices of the system with CPLD . Finally,we introduces some of problems and solutions in testing,including DSP software run over , the width of IO data and pulse generated benchmark problems encountered by.
