With the rapid development of the communicate technology, the mobile terminate has been changed to multi-functions of voice, data and image from single voice function. Because of the strong function and convenient operation, smartphone becomes more and more popular. Compared with traditional cell phone, the superiority of smartphone is obvious. It has plentiful functions and has strong capability to extend and upgrade hardware, which make the merging of communication, computer and internet realized on smartphone. Smartphone is the direction of the development of mobile phone in future.This paper analyses and studies the designing process of smartphone based on the practically production designing.This paper introduces the design of smartphone from system level. The solution of the smartphone is Dual-processor system architecture, which promote Single-processor and make the baseband chip upgrade more conveniently. The GSM module realizes calling, receiving and data transmission and the application processor handles high burden multi-media application specially. Firstly, it introduces the operation system and the architecture of smartphone, and then discusses hardware system design and gives more detail in realization of the main hardware modules. Thirdly, it introduces the software system. Finally, it discusses hardware and software debugging of the smartphone. Centrality Atlas-Ⅱ440 processor is used as application processor in the smartphone system. WinCE5.0 is the operation system of the smartphone.
