The transportation of underground mine is a complex process, because the ore could not arrive in concentration plants from stopes unless by loading, railway transport, letting vehicles go and ore discharge and so on for some times. In order to construct a scientific, reasonable and efficient transportation system in the large scale under ground mine, the existed roadways should be reused and part ones must be reformed or added, which will save the production cost of enterprises and bring vast economic benefit. Based on the transportation system of Gejiu Easte of Yunxi company Ltd, the large scale underground mine system was researched by the discrete-event simulation software—Flexsim, which using the principle of computer simulation. Following contents were mainly studied.(1) According to the compute simulation theory, the general framework of transportation system simulation was set up. the main characteristics of transportation system, such as transportation network structure, transportation rules, train signal controlling, train behavior, sudden breakdown and so on, and the internal relation between them were described in detail. At the same time, the internal operation mechanism of transportation system was described.(2) The random variable of transportation system was studied. The distribution density function of transportation system simulation was obtained by means of histogram and probability graph after data identification, parameter evaluation and goodness-of-fit test. Moreover, computer programming was used to realize the progress, because of the large quantity dates and the complicated treatment process.(3) The discrete-event simulation software Flexsim was applied firstly to set up the simulation model of transportation system based on the simulation framework and the random variable function. Main advantages of Flexsim are using the object-oriented technology modeling and the outstanding 3D display effect. In this way, the system could run in 3D environment freely, disadvantages and problems of the model can be found easily, which making the model equate to the production practical as much as possible to arrive the simulation study requirements.(4) The transportation system was analyzed based on the simulation model. Through changing model parameters, the simulation research was carried on to transportation system in different condition; the transportation system was evaluated according to the transportation capacity and the equipment utilization, which proof the biggest transport capacity of transportation system, therefore, the transported bottleneck was discovered, and the improvement measure was proposed.
