Design And Development Of Flight Information Service System Based On GSM/GPRS

In order to provide the public with exact and timely flight information at everytime and everywhere, this paper designed and developed convenient flight information service system, which based on current GSM/GPRS mobile communication network and combined with many kinds of Value-Added Services (SMS and WAP).To constructe the flight information service platform, the system connected the mobile communication network, SMS server and database with the wireless communication module (GSM Modem). Based on SMS transceiver control, it used VB combined with SQL, ADO and Access database to develope the flight information query subsystem; it used WAP PUSH to develope the delay information push subsystem; it used WML and ASP to develope the flight information WAP subsystem. It offered many kinds of convenient information services for public,includeing flight information querying, delay information pushing, flight information WAP querying and browsing.Flight information service system based on GSM/GPRS is a solution of industry application, which combined flight information service with mobile communication technology. After practical testing, it can basically satisfy the requirements, and has a good market prospect and value.
