The theories and applications of predictive function control (PFC) for typical industry process are studied in this dissertation. Firstly, the general principles of predictive control method are introduced systematically. The algorithm and simulations show that it has the following advantages: high control precision, quick control speed, good disturbance attenuation, etc. Secondly, a typical application of three-stage temperature reducer for main-steam system is presented in detail, and PFC-PID cascade control strategy is adopted. PFC-PID cascade control strategy is implemented into a main-steam temperature control system of circulating fluidized bed boiler (CFBB). The predictive model of PFC is first-order inertial element plus pure delay model which is gained by generalized plant. The results of simulations show that PFC-PID cascade control has better performance than PID cascade control strategy. Furthermore, the system with unmatched model still has favorable quality.
