Indigenization Of Foreign Financial Magazine's Chinese Version

After China joining into the World Trade Organization, more and more foreign media are entering into Chinese press market, including the magazine market, which has infinite profit potential. However, the differences in politics, in economy and in culture between China and foreign countries,makes the indigenization of foreign financial magazine's Chinese version more and more difficult. There is a report of a deep quantitative analysis on 'FORBES CHINA 'in this essay, which conclude some basic character of this magazine's content, and which find out the relationship between 'characters' and 'the degree of indigenization'. From this essay, I hope I will supply an elaborate case to other foreign financial magazines, who are already or intent to enter in China, and on the other hand, I will also send some suggestions to the local magazines, who will compete in their own market.The essay has five parts in all. First part, I will hit the high spots of this research, then in the second part, I will explain the details of the design of this research—selecting 12magazines of year 2007 of 'FORBES CHINA' as the research object, sorting them to 'import content 'and 'domestic content', then labelling them by their basic character, and then, classifing them by the degree of indigenization. In the third part ,I will have a statistic report of the research, and illustrate the data.In the fourth part, there is a conclusion from the series of data. I will illustrate what the characters are and what the relationship between 'character' and the 'degree of indigenization' is. Through visiting their editor, citing precedent and analyzing data, I will answer why this phenomenon exists. In the fifth part, I will give some suggestions to the foreign and domestic financial magazines respectively, then complete my essay at last.
