Massive data has been generated by the fast development of modern biological research, which opened up a new field: Bioinformatics. There are many softwares and web servers based on sequence analysis and structure prediction; However, when it comes to biological network research, there are only a few tools could be used. This paper investigates these frequently-used softwares, including Pajek, Cell Designer, and Cell Illustrator, and discusses their advantages and disadvantages. We developed a new biological network tool using Java program language, MVC design pattern, JUNG network framework and SWING GUI framework. The software is named "MyNetworker", and embeds many functions. It offers general software operation, supports different network file formats (Pajek's NET format, SBML and GraphML format), and provides tools for construction, editing and visualization of biological network. Furthermore, it contains several models for basic network algorithm analysis. Compared with other open source or commercial softwares, MyNetworker has its distinctive features that help researchers study bio-network. In addition, the prospects and potential opportunity of biological network software are proposed.
