The approach to real-time software development and its environment based on UML is one important aspect of embedded real-time field. It is necessary to combine Object-Oriented and UML technologies, such as visual modeling, executable model, automatically generate code, framework, etc., with the special feature of embedded real-time for developing the embedded real-time software. This thesis introduces modeling and implementation of Automated Mechanical Transmission (AMT) system based on UML.This thesis introduces the background of the theme, the development and the trend of Automated Transmission (AT) in world-wide, general procedure of traditional embedded system development, and the advantages using UML techniques. The construction and principle of AMT system are introduced; some important problems of AMT system are discussed. The basic principle and technologies of design about UML are introduced, features and integrity development environment of typically UML development tool, Rational Rose are explained. On the basic of that, all kinds of model related to the system are implemented, coupled with the detail analysis about the control of clutch during setup of the vehicle and the shift strategy, programming by C language, parts of source codes are listed, the results of the experiment are analyzed. With the help of UML modeling, system complex is reduced, development cycle is shorted, the cost is saved, maintainable and updatable is strengthen. The configuration technology adopted by this system during the process of development is introduced, which make it efficient to cooperate with many people.
