With the fast development of mobile communication technology, the importance of mobile data services in the communication industry becomes increasingly prominent. Especially in China, short messaage service has a large market. As the number of short messages increase, there are growing dissatisfactions among people in the small short message storage of Subscriber Identity Module (SIM), as well as requests on the management of stored short messages in the SIM. The expansion of large-capacity Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) storage medium and the realization of control of the operating system meet the needs of users. Based on the SIM card application toolkit technology, this paper proposed a method to achieve the short message storage and management on large-capacity Subscriber Identity Module (SIM),namely, setting up short message storage module and management module.Short Message storage module creates two sub-modules excluding the standard GSM short message document 6F3C: short message record sub-module and short message warehouse sub-module, which divide the stored short messages into two parts respectively to manage. The short message record sub-module is directly linked to the 6F3C, while the short message warehouse sub-module is directly linked to the short message record sub-module. Short message management module is consist of the SIM card applications toolbox technical components, which can complete control the information stored in the short message management module. Through the establishment of these two modules, users can achieve storage and manage the short messages effectively in the large-capacity Subscriber Identity Module.
