As the rapid progress of mobile communication, kinds of mobile communication standards compete and complement each other, so, Heterogeneous network convergence will definitely become biggest development trend.TD-SCDMA can meet high communication quality, seamless roaming requirement, it features mature voice service, good roaming, handover, perfect AAA functions. But it is still difficult to fully satisfy users' need for 10Mbit/s or even more high-speed multimedia service demand. While, WiMAX can provide up to 75Mbit/s peak data rate transmission, also can support mobility and multimedia services. So TD-SCDMA and WiMAX network convergence will be able to provide high-quality mobile voice service, also will let users enjoy high speed data multimedia service. Therefore, TD-SCDMA and WiMAX network convergence will be efficient and effective.At the same time, interworking research between 3G and WiMAX become a hot field, mobile user and network security turn into a big challenge. So, interworking security issue become imperative under this situation.Based on the analysis of WiMAX and TD-SCDMA network convergence and security problem, this paper proposes a feasible WiMAX and TD-SCDMA interworking architecture, and after analyzing the security scenario we proposes a total AAA solution based on EAP-AKA method, providing more secure end to end authentication procedure for the users. While, the author participates in research and development of AAA Gateway, implementation of the whole authentication procedure. Finally, the whole interworking architecture was tested step by step, and the test result proves that this solution and architecture is correct.
