Monitor and control platform of information acquisition and processing for Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) is one of important support technologies in WSNs application. Background software is an crucial part of the platform and is responsible for information processing.At present some back ground softwares of WSN monitor and control platform are developed by the text language and target for special nodes at home and abroad. A new monitor and control platform for WSNs was presented based on the Virtual Instrument in order to improve the versatility and efficiency. The background software was developed by graphical programming language LabVIEW and implemented the functions such as data read, parse, save, visualize, alarm, remote monitor and network state analyze. Outstanding user interface can be constructed quickly by graph controls in LabVIEW.The background software was designed by VI modules and could construct different VI systems with different modules. Development cost and a mount of repeat work were reduced. The background software was applied with Maca and Snode nodes. The result releases that the background software can be expanded easily, compatibles to kinds of WSNs nodes and can be used in more occasions.
