Based on the basic principle of MBMS, this paper gives the analysis of PtP and PtM model's performance, and analyzes the performances of MBMS's spectral efficiency, throughput, BLER and HARQ. Then, with the theoretical analysis, we use the MBMS system simulation in Full-buffer and Fixed-bitrate traffic models to validate MBMS's efficiency and validity, at last we make sure that MBMS technology is the efficient guarantee for network resource sharing.This thesis consists of the following four sections:Firstly, the paper simply introduces the developing background of MBMS, and the application in 3G/B3G, at last we give the system framework of MBMS. Through analyzing MBMS's advantages, we make sure that MBMS can realize multimedia broadcast and multicast service in high bitrate, which satisfies the trend of mobile data in future.Secondly, we explain MBMS's theory in detail. We give the theories of PtP and PtM models in MBMS, then introduce the basic service functions in MBMS, which analyzes the same and different points of broadcast and multicast service in MBMS, at last illuminate the channel framework of MBMS.Thirdly, we set up semi-dynamic system simulator based on MBMs. We give the system simulator's flow chart, then give emphasis to the resource scheduling algorithm in MBMS, scheduling flow chart and the algorithm of selecting MCS. At last we give the calculation method of spectral efficiency and throughput in MBMS's Full-buffer and Fixed-bitrate traffic model.The last chapter of this paper gives the simulation results' analysis of MBMS system simulator. In this chapter, we compare the spectral efficiency, throughput, and BLER curves in Full-buffer and Fixed-bitrate traffic models. Through the curves, we can prove MBMS system's capability. After comparing the spectral efficiency curves, we find some potential problems and solve these questions in detail.
