At present, the telecommunication service is in the direction of diversification. The ordinary call services have been unable to meet the needs of users. With the development of telecommunication service, the complexity of signaling procedure also increases. At the same time, the better quality of the service is required. So, the service provider should provide new services with good quality.Software Test is an important part of software development process, it is a crucial stage for verifying user demand and assuring software quality. Some trouble occurs as a result of insufficient test. Because existing test tools have inherent limitations, the test has to be executed by tester all the time, and there will be plenty of repeated work, as a result, the trueness and correctness of the test depends entirely on tester's responsibility and patience. The particularity of the telecommunication service result in that a service may have hundreds of signaling procedures, including a large number of abnormal procedures, so it is unrealistic to test all the processes manually. Moreover, the inter-entity signaling interaction is increasingly complex, and more and more entities and signaling are involved in, the existing testing tools can not complete the test by themselves. In view of this, a brand new automated test system - MINSATS is designed. MINSATS is able to simulate almost all entities and signalings in Mobile Intelligent Network, and make up for the insufficient support that existing test tools provide for these, as a result, almost all signaling procedures can be tested. Besides, MINSATS is able to automatically receive and send signaling, check signaling parameters and data stored in database, therefore, the test process which is excuted by tester manually before will be completed by computer now. What is more important, the batch test function provided by MINSATS is able to test large quantities of signaling procedures automatically in a batch, which can prominently improve the efficiency and validity, eliminate potential trouble, improve the quality of software and bring economic benefit indirectly. This thesis focuses on the design and implementation of this automated system. In chapter 1, the concept of Mobile Intelligent Network and the CMIN02 system which is in large scale business use are introduced first, and then, the significance of software test and the advantage of automated test tool are analyzed. At last, the limitation of existing tools and the necessity of designing a new automated test system are illuminated. In chapter 2, potential users of the system are listed first, and then, the function that the system should have is analyzed, as well as the entities and signalings that need to be simulated. At last, the development environment and tools are listed. In chapter 3, first, the concept model and work mode are put forward, and then, some signaficant problems needed to be solved are analyzed. The system is devided into several modules. At last, the Resume Broken Test which will refer to several subsystems is designed primarily. In chapter 4, the directory of MINSATS is demonstrated, and then, the design and implementation schemes are illuminated, including adopted design pattern and some auxiliary tools. Also, the subsystems' function that is related to Resume Broken Test is illuminated in their own parts. Eventually, 25 PIBs defined in Global Functional Plane are illuminated briefly. In chapter 5, the effect of MINSATS is analyzed and concluded, and then, the application and defect of MINSATS are listed. At last, the prospect of MINSATS is illuminated briefly.
