Research On User-Centered Design And The Application In Educational Management System

Along with the constant development of information technology, computing is becoming ubiquitous. All software systems are tools to help users complete computing. Software users are not only computer professionals or industry experts, but also more and more Ordinary users. Software users are not concerned with the software itself, but rather how to use the software to complete the task. Therefore the usability of software becomes an important issue in the software development.User-centered design methods can effectively improve software usability. Users will always be placed first in all the process, users research and understanding as the basis for various decision-making. As the same time, products evaluations in various stages also come from user feedback. Users are the core of the whole process.Most User-Centered Design methods provide only empirical criteria without the operational guideline for the system. Integrating Scenario-Based Design with user-centered design is an effective method for the design process of software. The core of this approach is that scenarios are used to describe the details of the design process, and all these descriptions are based on UCD, from the users' point of view and serves users.This thesis proposes the definition and importance of the software usability firstly, analyzes user-centered design to solve the problem of software usability, discusses the user-centered design flow, put forward User-Centered Scenario-Based Design method, the purpose of which is to increase the effectively for the usable software. And a sample about Educational Management System in Wanzhou district of Chongqing is designed partly by User-Centered Scenario-Based Design method.
