Chaos is a quasi-stochastic phenomenon appearing possibly in definite nonlinear dynamic systems. The dynamic properties of chaos signal such as noise-like, continuously wide frequency spectrum and extremely sensitivity to the starting values have been proved to be useful for secure communication. The realization of chaotic synchronization is the theory basis of secure communication. The research of the chaotic synchronization and control and its application becomes a research focus in contemporary related science fields.The main content of this brief contains the analysis of chaotic synchronization and control and application of chaotic secure communication. The following main subjects are included in this brief:1 .According to the actuality and development tide of domestic and foreign research, systematic review is presented about chaotic synchronization and its application. And the important methods of synchronization that have practical and theoretic value, drive-response synchronization, generalized synchronization, nonlinear feedback synchronization and synchronization based on state observer.2.To exist insufficiency which in view of the chaos synchronized research, the synchronization of chaotic system which has the same dimension of similarities and differences structure has been analyzed, it improved the synchronization performance.3.Four main messages encoding schemes based on chaotic synchronization were theoretical analyzed and simulated: chaotic masking, chaos modulation, chaos shift keying and chaotic spread spectrum. The full duplex of chaotic secure communication based on state observer and generalized synchronization has been designed. And chaos modulation based on drive-response synchronization has been analyzed.
