The development of the computer technology has driven the Product design diversification. Only keeping Product innovative ability unceasingly,can the enterprise baseself on sure ground in fierce market competition. The CAD/CAM technology is the key means to realize innovative,CAE tech is the main technology guarantee to realize the designs.Today,development of computer technology is swift and violent, it require that enterprise to integrate Product design with finite element method and three-dimensional simulate analysi system effectively to reaeh the market demands of manufacturing industry high-effeet,low cost,and automation.Ribs forming in the shipbuilding production of hull construction is an important component. Frame bending by NC frame bender ribs can achieve more satisfactory results for the forming, but when processing larger ribs, the existing frame bender will not be able to meet the needs of processing, The design of larger frame bender meet the needs, and this needs will change the original frame bender size. At the same time due to increased the processing capacity of frame bender, we must increase the clamping force of the folder, this change will increased the deformation of machines, the quality of ribs forming and structural strength of the frame bender will be impactd.One part work of this paper is using Pro / E as the design of tools, analysising the feature of frame bender of the structure and processing characteristics of movement, discussing the frame bender modeling methods, and establish a 3D solid model of the manipulator frame bender, and its movement process based on Pro / Mechanism simulation.Another part of this work is combining the finite element technology with structural design of the the middle housing, taking the Pro/MECHANICA as a platform for the analysis of actual force in the middle housing,boundary conditions and imposed load.By analyzing, identified by the largest the middle housing in stepping up the biggest load stress and deformation. Use structure (Structure) analysis tool, analysis optimized parameters of sensitivity on the middle housing, in the frame work of the largest allowable stress meeting the requirements of stress and deformation conditions, Completing the optimization of parameters of the frame structure to achieve the objective function, that is, in the the middle housing minimum quality. The results show that the design is precision and it can meet the actual frame bender condition requirements.
