With the application and popularization of communication and network in production and daily life, the modem information society's demand for talent in the access,exchange,transfer and related fields of telecommunications network increases rapidly. However, institutions of higher learning so far has not been a relatively mature in the personnel training system of this field, the most important reason is the lack of professional equipment. To address the above situation, a communication training system is developed; the experimental system starts from the network layer, providing students with a series of pilot projects. As the standard industry architecture of an open,distributed object computing, CORBA is independent in platform and not related to language, and it has interoperability in distributed heterogeneous environment. Software developed by CORBA has object-oriented characteristics as well as reusability, portability, scalability, scalability and interoperability. Therefore, developing the communication training system with CORBA technology has a very significant practical value.This paper has introduced communications professional theoretical knowledge involved in the communication training system. It has analyzed the development status and characteristics of training system at home and abroad and discussed the key technologies in the process of the system deeply. Based on the above theory and technology, this paper has mainly analyzed the requirement and framework of the system based on standard software development process, and it has designed and implemented the training system with the technology of object-oriented modeling and distributed object. The main research work is as follows:(1) The requirement of the system was analyzed and the design programme of the communication training system was proposed according to the the object-oriented analysis and design methods. The system's business processes was analyzed in detail and the use of system function was determined; the classes involved in the system was also abstracted, the type of interaction between the classes was analyzed and the system model was established. (2) Based on the results analyzed above, this article analyzed system database in detail and designed the logic structure of the database as well as established the database model according to the principles of the database design and analysis, in the end we realized the database access with durable programme.(3) This paper designed the main function modules of the communication training system based on CORBA in detail and analyzed the system's operational mechanism. This paper also designed the system structure and interface Implementation programmes of CORBA's client and service sides. At last we run and tested this system successfully.(4) The communication training system designed and implemented in this paper has been applied in the communications network laboratory successfully in more than 10 colleges and universities nationwide such as Jilin Institute of Chemical Technology.
