This paper aims to study the gender imbalance phenomenon in sports media report. It divides into three main areas. The first chapter combs the present situation of gender imbalance in Chinese sports media report, chooses the sports report in China Youth Daily, China Sports Daily and The Tenth Games sports event report from CCTV as cases to analysis and classify the phenomenon, through the number and content that the sports media reported, we analyses the gender imbalance in the status quo, and on this basis, we attributed the negative effects from the gender imbalance, were mainly enhancing awareness of women, developing sports, and improving media themselves. From feminist perspective, the second chapter attempts to analysis the reason of the problem of gender imbalance in China's sports media report, and summary five reasons, including the penetration of traditional male ideology for the mass media, the distortion of Chinese female self-awareness, the impact of medium female occupations structure, the impact of the audience structural imbalances, the impact of consumerism and commercial culture. The third chapter tries to take the sports media as the main channel, union other aspects of social influence and inquire the countermeasure. At last, the paper tries to give six countermeasures, as follows: 1 awakening the Chinese women main awareness; 2 strengthening media studies and the effective monitoring of the media; 3 focusing on public opinion guidance and the audience's media literacy education; 4 emphasizing the supervision and realizing the management standardization, the legalization; 5 building a healthy sports and cultural atmosphere; 6 improving the female discriminates against the phenomenon through the media own.
