Railway signal facility is one of the most important basic equipments of the railroad transportation system. It's an important device that ensures the transportation safety and efficiency. Comparison with the developed countries, locomotive detective system technology is very fogeyish, we are still in study .The paper analyzes the function of train carried signal processing system and designed a solution of embedded terminal software suitable to this system. The scheme uses S3C2410 of Susang company as its processor, which has a powerful capacity and be easy to develop. We adopt linux which is popular today as the operating system in the project and use Qtopia software development package which blongs to Trollteck company of Norway to develop GUI. The software development package uses the signal and slot mechanism, which is robust and isn't easy to breakdown compared to the response to event of Minigui.Customizing the linux operation system, transplanting the ppcboot, estab- lishing the file system, designing the device drivers and developing the applica- tion program are the research keypoints of the paper. In the paper, a PC with linux operation system is used as the host machine. Cross-compile tool chains are installed on the host to construct cross-compile environment. Minicom, TFTP, NFS are used to construct the embedded software platform.According to the capacity requirement, then transported the ppcboot successfully;after satisfy all requirements, content structure,configuring,reducing and modifing the kernel codes,designing and realizing some important kernel drivers such as A/D ,CAN bus have been done; Basing on the analyzing the Embedded File System characteristics, the RAMDISK and JFFS2 file system were implemented successfully;Finally, man-machine conversation interface was analyzed and realized using the Qtopia software development package.The system has been proved that it's easy to operate and it has a good perform- ance on stability.The capacity is realized perfectly.
