The technology of Three-dimensional laser imaging is a very active branch in laser technology application in recent years, the characteristic of range-select make three-dimensional laser take advantage to other kind of two-dimensional imaging methods. But traditional laser imaging has obvious limitations, which is small visual field, low frame rate. To overcome these shortages, make three-dimensional imaging laser radar has the characteristic of high frame rate, large visual field. A project use streak tube as the detector in three-dimensional laser imaging system has been put forward in recent years. The feasibility of this project has been discussed in theory, a set of streak tube laser imaging system for demo has been established to demonstrate this imageing project and get the streak images of the indoor and outdoor specific targets. In the end, analysed the imageing characteristics of this streak tube three-dimensional laser imaging system, and the prospect of its application in military, commerce.In this paper, we first analyzed the principle of streak tube, discussed the capacity for temporal resolution and spatial resolution, which shows the feasibility that streak tube could be used as the detctor in three-dimensional laser imaging system, introduced the designment of streak tube three-dimensional imaging system, discussed the principle of whole system.Laser radar equation in large visual field condition has been deducted in theory, the expression of disperse echo power of target, which is illuminated respectively by expanded basic mode gauss beam of laser pluse and expanded flat peak beam of laser pluse which is modified has been get, also we calculated the disperse echo power density of the targets at 300m away and 1000m away, by taken use of the expression and parameters of experiment. It proved the feasibility to image target in 1000m by streak tube laser three- dimensional laser imaging system established, directed experiment's design and practice.Wd established a three-dimensional laser imaging system for experiment and demo with the laser and streak tube purchased, include Xelamp-pump Nd : YAG lasers as emission, streak tube as detector, transmitting and receiving optical system, optical trigger, CCD data reading and processing. The parameters of key components of the system is tested, such as laser pulse characteristics of emission, receiving system's spatial and temporal resolution, confirmed system parameters to meet such requirement as resolution of imageing system. Experiments were designed, to image the indoor specific targets,tested the ability for precise imaging for close target., achieved satisfactory results. Outdoor imaging experiments completed 160m and 300m away targets imaging, restructed steak images, got the real distance information of the targets, and analyzed the error. The reasult of image long distance targets verified the correctness of calculate results, also confirmed the feasibility of three-dimensional imaging laser project.
