Satellite network with inter-satellite links has many particular advantages and it receives more and more recognition in both commercial and military fields. Using inter-satellite links can constitute satellite constellation and formation flying satellites. Satellite network is becoming one of the most important development orientations of satellite new technology.Inter-satellite communications is an important part of satellite network. The development of inter-satellite communications will influence the realization and development of satellite network. When a satellite communicate with another satellite, the signal will be interfered by noise and fading. Because satellite power and bandwidth source is limited, it is necessary to use good channel coding technology to reduce the bit errors, and at the same time, this will guarantee the reliable communication between satellites, this will also reduce the request of satellite antenna and satellite weight.In this paper, some research on reliability of communications among satellites will be done. The paper include some studies on the inter-satellite communications of satellite constellation and formation flying satellites, some kinds of channel coding technologies, low-density parity-check codes, spread spectrum communication and their applications in inter-satellite communication.Because there is little research and information about inter-satellite links, this paper contains derivation of inter-satellite link equations and some analysis and modeling about inter-satellite links.There are some introductions about the coding and decoding of block code, convolutional code, interleaver and concatenated code. And some simulation and analysis of them in both additive white Gaussian noise channel and Rice channel will be done.This paper introduces low-density parity-check codes and its construction, coding scheme, decoding algorithm and basic characteristic. Some simulation, analysis and comparison of its decoding algorithm in additive white Gaussian noise channel and Rice channel will be studied.Reliability of inter-satellite communications is an important issue, the implementation of spread spectrum communication technology and channel coding introduced above will be used in the inter-satellite communication system. Some research of anti-interference of spread spectrum communication, and some simulation about channel coding technology in spread spectrum communication system will be done. At last this paper will sum up the influence of spread spectrum communication technology and channel coding about inter-satellite communication quality.
