Data mining is a technique that aims to analyze and understand large source data and reveal knowledge hidden in the data. It has been viewed as an important evolution in information processing. During the past decade or over, the concepts and techniques on data mining have been presented, and some of them have been discussed in higher levels for the last few years. Like the other new techniques, however, data mining must develop gradually from concept creation, accepted importance, wide discussion, few usage attempts to a large applications. Association rule mining is an important branch of data mining that it has obtained many valuable results but there still are a deal of more challenging problems to discuss. For large databases, the research on improving the mining performance and precision is necessary. Now, so many focuses on association rule mining are about new mining theories, algorithms and improving to old methods.The study of data mining in our country is just at its'beginning,and it is mainly used telecom,finance and insurance filds.However,Data mining technologies has been well studied and widly used among many industries. And Healthcare industry is included. The data mining technologies are not only used in Hospital management, but also used in assisting doctors'work.. So, the study of data mining applications in healthcare industry is very valuable in our country.The thesis makes research on the analysis of the algorithnl improvements of mining medical association rules and combines with the Hospitial Information System of Qianfoshan Hospital in Shandong. and .The main contents are listed: The existed documents of association rules are analyzed and studied widely. The typical algorithms:Apriori and FP-growth of mining association rules are discussed and analyzed in merits and defects of these algorithms. Based on them ,we present an rmproved algorithm. The algorithm mainly takes account of the generation bottleneck of frequent itemsets;it improves the Apriori algorithm by reducing scan times of transaction database etc. The performance comparison between the improved algorithm and Apriori algorithm is experimented The results of the experiments are analyzed. All of the experiments reveal good Performance of the improved algorithm. This part provides a brief introduction of the Hospital Information Sysetm,mainly describes the function and frame of Out-patient department of Hosptial Sub-System. The characteristics of medical data are analyzed,An example about medical data is given to explain how to map medical data. An example about Out-patient clinic is given to show the application of the association rules Because of problems existing in the application of association rules in medical data of the Hospital Information Sysetm,an improved algorithm is introduced to solve them. By testing a medical data, it is shown that the algorithm reduces the uninteresting rules and provides the scientific decision making for the diagnosis and the treatment of the diseases.
