MIS (Management Information System) is a newly developed science. Its main task is to use modern computer and network communication technology extensively to establish correct data, and to make all kinds of information provided to managers for right decisions, by investigating the resources of manpower, material, money, devices and technology owned by the corporation, therefore to elevate the managing and profit. As the development of the economy of our country these years, the power network project grew enormously, and MIS was becoming an important part of power network management. However, the production of most MIS is now not under the same mode, the data that MIS makes is also not saved and managed together. Moreover, the producing system of different regions is developed by different producer at different times, the resulting data disaccord, "data island" occurs.In this article, we analyze the developing background and the situation of electric power network developing of our country and abroad, and describe the main problems the system solved.
