Magnetic abrasive finishing is one of applications of magnetic field in manufacturing field. It is a finishing method which utilizing the action at a distance between magnetic pole and incompact magnetic abrasive to finish work piece by introducing the magnetic and electric fields. The major advantage compared with the traditional finishing methods is that magnetic abrasive does not need any support and its shape can be modified by the surface of work piece, which determines that magnetic abrasive finishing can be used to finish all complex surface, including inner surface. The research work of this paper is computer simulation and system design of inner finishing by magnetic abrasive finishing using rotating magnetic field.There are many methods to generate rotating magnetic field. It is tested that the most proficiency method is using pulse-controlled magnet core to generate rotating magnetic field, in which the density and frequency of rotating field can be adjusted, the different form of rotating field can be easily achieved, and both magnetic pole and work piece need not rotate during the magnetic abrasive finishing process.Field distribution is a important factor in magnetic abrasive finishing. In this paper, computer simulation is adopted to study the field distribution and other effect factors of magnetic abrasive finishing. Owing to the complex shape and dimension, magnetic field computation can not be accomplished by analytical method, but by numerical computation. Finite element method is presented to establish a mathematical model of magnetic abrasive finishing in this paper, and simulation software has also been programmed. On the basis of the computer simulation of NS structure rotating magnetic field, some conclusion has been reached.In this paper, micro-controller has been used to realize pulse-controlled rotating magnetic field. The function of the controlling system comprise time sequence control of rotating field, data collection and serial communication etc. It avails the automation of finishing process and the interface to other system by using micro-controller.Power MOSFET is adopted to switch heavy current of magnet core in order to control rotating magnetic field effectively. Power MOSFET is avoltage-controlled appliance which has a fast switch speed, small driven current and higher threshold voltage. So it is the ideal power interface component of micro-computer. Additionally, the magnetic control word is introduced to achieve the control sequence of rotating magnetic field.
