Application Research Of Weather Reasoning System Based On Ontology

This paper presents a prototype system, which is based on research of ontology. This system has built an ontology library and SWRL rules of the strong convection in meteorology. Based on all the work above, semantic reasoning on the domain was implemented by applying with Jess. This system will computerize the process of weather forecast and improve the forecast efficiency. The main work as follows:1. After reading many weather references and with help of weather professors,this paper has designed the strong convection ontology library to describe the restrictions and relations of the weather conception.2. This paper has built SWRL rules of the strong convection in meteorology toreasoning the intreseting results, which can forecast the weather accurately.3. By SWRL parsing machine, the paper has translated the SWRL rule formatmentioned in step 2 to JESS format, the ontology mentioned in step 1 to JESS fact. And then, this system is able to run the reasoning process and get the results using jess.4. With mode identify and ontology technology, the paper has present theprototype system of weather reasoning.
