With the present trend of WDM Optical Network development, from simple and easy expansion point of view, it is necessary to develop a fast, efficient Distributed RWA algorithm to adapt current network, the current network traffic flow is a variety of integrated traffic flow, this traffic flow shows similar characteristics. Therefore, under the self-similar traffic flow, the research of Distributed WDM Optical Network is a very important significance.By using NS2 network simulation software, this paper generated self -similar traffic operations, and using experience R / S analysis method, from the estimated Hurst parameters, obtained a actual network traffic close to the self-similar traffic flow. Then using the fixed routing - first fit Algorithm do a Network Simulation, compare with Centralized algorithm obtain some important conclusions.Simulation shows that the self-similar traffic than the Poisson traffic network performance more exacerbated; Fiber wavelength combination under Distributed Algorithm has a greater impact to self-similar traffic; Node processing time for the performance of distributed algorithms have had a great impact; Distributed algorithm will be used in special resource competition obstruction, and this obstruction related to the size of the traffic; Finally, in the use of self-similar traffic flow under the premise of a distributed algorithm found that the congestion rate is slightly higher than centralized algorithm, but the distributed algorithm has bring some unique advantages for WDM Network.
