Radar terminal system is a comprehensive display, control & data processing platform composed of multiple subsystems within the computer bus. This system can perform automatic target signal detection, target track and display functions. At the moment, a 3-D Terminal Console with high stability and integration is successfully developed. For previous radar products, data processing subsystem is closely connected with the radar controller, but these two subsystems are independent due to low integration and technical factors (data processing subsystem is attached to the Terminal Console, but radar controller is a separate cabinet), so that it poses much trouble to the mutual data transmission and maintenance. With the robust development of mutual technology and close connection, integration of the radar controller and the radar terminal is inevitable.Embedded terminal module that integrates the radar controller with the radar terminal system is designed on demand. Radar controller realizes the mutual communication with the data processing subsystem via the high-speed PCI BUS within the computer, fast calculation and control processing activity can be conducted by the high-performance DSP of radar controller. In order to meet various requirements for various radar systems, programmable circuit FPGA is adopted in design to greatly improve the flexibility and reliability of the circuit design. As a result, system reliability and maintainability is enhanced. In this paper, brief description of this application will be given.
