In recent years, with the rapid development of computer networks and computer technology, network technology has seeped through computer applications in various fields. The advantage lies in network resource sharing, remote communications and enhancing overall system reliability. Therefore, centralized management of devices through network become a trend. The thermal overload relays reliability test device and MCCB reliability test device are used to detect index of thermal over load relays and MCCB. For improving test efficiency and convenient for central management, it is very important to study the control and communication technologies of test. Except that, it is important to develop communication software of central management.This paper analyzed the hardware part of the similarities and differences between thermal overload relays reliability test device and MCCB overload protection devices, formed a small LAN with star topology. Our using the type of network is Client/Server model, and using Visual Basic 6.0 developed the communication software based on the TCP/IP protocol, including client and server communication software. Centralized control may control two test equipments using a server at the same time, greatly improving the efficiency and remote control capacity, to meet the current needs of the development of social networks, have some practical significance.
