H.264 is a new video coding stardard jointly developed by ITU-T and ISO MPEG. In despite of its excellent performance, the quantity of calculation is excessive. In general, it is hard to meet the requirement of actual applications. In this paper, we'll focus on optimization of H.264 decoder.Firstly, it described the advanced technologies of H.264, such as the motion estimation based on multiple-modes motion vectors,intra-prediction,integral transform,entropy encode. Then, based on the analysed the main structure and the flow of H.264 decoder and combining the individual traits of model, we optimized the decoder in three aspects: program structure, loop filter and sub-pixel interpolation. The experiment proved that after the optimization decoder speed improvement of 3~4 times. Last in the base of SDL library and network programing, using the technolog of mulit-thread achieve the receiving video and display.
