The construction of unrepeatered long-span optical fiber communication systems is of great significance for the transmission of power system information using Chinese ultra-high voltage power grid. Unrepeatered optical communication technology and the its research status in power system are introduced; two dispersion compensation techniques—the dispersion compensation fiber and chirped fiber Bragg grating are researched and analyzed, chirped fiber Bragg grating is determined to be used in the simulation system; discusses the changes of stimulated Brillouin scattering threshold after introducing fiber Raman amplifier in unrepeatered fiber communication systems, which can provide reference for system optimization and configuration; Finally, a scheme of 2.5Gb/s single channel ultra-long span unrepeatered fiber transmission system over 380km is given, which provides a configuration basis for the future practical applications.
