Embedded system is widely used in all kinds of intelligent controller. At present, the high-end embroidery controller at abroad is designed with high-performance microprocessor, however, the domestic embroidery controller is designed based on SCM, characterized with the disadvantage as monotonous, less variety, weak data-processing functions, and also hard to carry out the graphical control interface. So it is urgent to develop the high-performance intelligent controller.The embedded embroidery controller based on the S3C2410 and the embedded Linux is designed. The main work and contributions of the dissertation are summarized as follows:Firstly, we made a deep study about the embedded system's bootloader program U-boot, the embedded Linux kernel and root file system, and then transplanted them based on the specific hardware. So the development platform of the applied procedures is carried out.Secondly, because of nonsupport of the Linux kernel to some embedded devices, such as keyboard, LCD, network card, etc, the kernel object mechanism and devices driver development principle of Linux2.6 kernel was researched thoroughly. The devices driver development model was proposed and the related devices driver was also programmed.Thirdly, the graphical interface of controller was programmed by using MiniGUI system, and the real-time state, parameters in the processing of the embroidery can be displayed.Finally, the format of files such as DST, DSB and DSZ stored in the system is described in detail and the decoding method is described as well. The motion control method of the principal axis motor and the taboret motor was studied.
