| At present, the flexible manufacture system (FMS) and the computer integration manufacture system (CIMS) are becoming the main manufacturing method in the most of middle and large manufacturing firm ,and the on-line monitoring of tool wear is one of key technologies in these manufacture systems. It Is vital significance because it can enhance the manufacturing efficiency and the processing quality, reduce the production cost, guarantee the automated and the non-humanization's processing system effectively and reliably.This paper reviews the present situation and development of the on-line monitoring of tool wears in detail, and summarizes the characteristics of various monitoring methods. A method of the on-line monitoring of tool wear based on soft-sensing technology is proposed. The idea is that using the spindle motor current (the auxiliary variables) to estimate the value of tool wear (the dominant variables). Using the virtual instrument software (LabVIEW) structures the spindle motor current monitoring system, analyze and process the data gathering from the Date Acquisition card, for the real-time signal current collection, storage, processing and display, and thereby indirectly to assume the tool wear.For the using of Hall electric current sensor, it is suitable for the situation while the transmission system is seal and some common sensor installed difficultly. The paper has conducted the detailed research of the main axle electric current signal and has analyzed the monitoring principle based on main axle electric current. For the using of MLR, this paper has established the soft-sensing model between the cutting parameter (spindle speed, feed rate, depth of cut and cutting tool diameter) and the electric current signal. The relations between the capacity of cutting tool wearing and main electrical electric current signal can be conclude through this model, thus can monitor and control the capacity of cutting tool wear real-timely. |
