TD-SCDMA, proposed by China Academic of Telecommunication Technology, was accepted by the ITU as one of the 3rd generation standards. For TD-SCDMA mode, a physical channel is characterized by a combination of its carrier frequency, time slot and spreading code. TD-SCDMA is designed to support voice service, as well as multimedia service. This thesis focuses on an objective-oriented, modularized method for evaluating the performance of TD-SCDMA, as well as the method of simulating Power Control system level simulation. There are 4 chapters in this thesis. Chapter 1 provides the introduction of TD-SCDMA system, including the network architecture, frame architecture, system advantages and disadvantages of TD-SCDMA. Chapter 2 discusses the principle and methods for system level simulation in CDMA systems, the basic characters of system level simulation and the most popular simulation method for both static and dynamic simulation are also discussed. Considering the importance and high complexity of Power Control, Chapter 3 introduces the different power control which is a key technique for CDMA and some basic principle, and analyses the realized process of power control detailedly. Chapter 4 proposes a method to fulfill Smart Antenna in system level simulation and analyze the feasibility of the proposed method. The simulation methods for evaluating the performance of TD-SCDMA are investigated in chapter 4. A fundamental methodology of building mathematical models and basic methods of structuring TD-SCDMA system level simulator are also proposed. Then the performance of speech traffic in TD-SCDMA system is evaluated, and some simulation results and the analyses are presented.
