RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) system is an automatic identification technology that has been developed since 1980s. It can be widely used in all kinds of fields. With the development of RFID technology, more and more research have been carried out on radio network planning and optimization and most of the research are based on how to develop the propagation model of the electromagnetic wave in the given environment.In this thesis, we use Ray tracing algorithm to develop the indoor propagation model and finish the tracing of electromagnetic wave from the transmitted position to the received position, so we know the optimal position through calculating the electric field and energy of the received position, then we can realize the planning of indoor network.Combining with related theory of electromagnetic wave and field, we propose how to realize the Ray tracing algorithm based on Image method. The basic idea of the algorithm is finding image points of the transmitted point through the barriers and effective paths which include transmitted path, reflected path and diffractive path from the transmitted point to the received point, then we can calculate the field and energy of the received point through the related physical formulas.At last, the results derived from Matlab will be compared and analyzed with RPS, and they are very close, at the same time, Ray tracing algorithm can consider the phase change which RPS does not have.
