Research And Implementation On DMB-TH Reception And Demodulation System

Digital television is the third-generation after black-and-white television and color one. All the countries of the world accelerate the digitalization of broadcasting in recent years. With the development of terrestrial digital TV, three kinds of standards for terrestrial digital TV broadcasting have been proposed in the world. They are the standards of ATSC 8-VSB, DVB-T COFDM and ISDB-T OFDM put forward by America, Europe and Japan respectively. Since the design of the system is limited by the design method, applied environment, technical merit and the supportive ability of hardware of that time, the systems of the three standards have not yet fulfilled their potential as they were supposed. Our country was always limited and restricted in international competition due to the lack of the technology with independent intellectual property rights. For this consideration and the existing defects of the three international standards, and in order to standardize the market and to meet the market's application as well as the long-term development, China put forward our own terrestrial digital TV broadcasting standard DMB-TH (Digital Multimedia Broadcasting-Terrestrial/Handheld) which has been implemented during August 1,2007.With the national standard announced and implemented, a large number of digital cable TV operators, MPEG-2 / DMB-TH equipment developers and integrators, as well as digital video broadcasting service providers and developers urgently need a fixed receiver system which can receive and demodulate the DMB-TH signal. The DMB-TH reception and demodulation system is designed and realized in this thesis. Working as professional digital TV transmission equipment, it applies to measure the parameter of digital TV signals which transmit in the cable channel using DMB-TH standard, and to demodulate RF signal, export MPEG-2 transport stream. The system is designed reasonable and simple, so it has high commercial valueThe thesie mainly involves the following several aspects:1. The development of the technology of digital TV is discussed completely, and the three international standards for terrestrial digital TV broadcasting are introduced exhaustively.2. Background, system components, systems technical features and application prospects of the national terrestrial digital TV broadcasting standard (Digital Multimedia Broadcasting -Terrestrial/Handheld) are discussed comprehensively.3. One kind of the system of DMB-TH reception and demodulation was researched and designed, and then the requirements of system, the general system design and the main design point of the related key components are discussed.4. The design and implementation of this system including software and hardware part is introduced.
